  • ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test is a national test conducted by The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (Deemed to be University) for students seeking admissions to the MBA/Ph.D. programs of IBS.
  • The scores are accepted by 9 business schools of ICFAI.
  • It is a computer-based, objective-type test.
  • IBSAT’s duration is 2 hours and the exam centres fall in 94 cities across India.
  • IBSAT has a two-day test window. Some students are allotted day 1 for the exam, while some, day 2.
  • Students are given +1 for a correct answer. There is no negative marking. The fee for applying for IBSAT is INR 1800.
  • The test has 140 questions in total, divided into 4 sections. Data inadequacy & interpretation, reading comprehension, and quantitative techniques have 30 questions each, whereas verbal ability has 50 questions.
  • Candidates applying for the exam should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university and should have secured at least 50% score in their bachelor’s. Students can also apply in their final year of graduation.
  • If the medium of instruction is any other language than English, then candidates are supposed to submit their TOEFL, NELT or IELTS score.
  • The cut-offs for the top ICFAI institutes fall somewhere between 63 and 68.


  • Common Admission Test scores are also accepted in place of IBSAT. This test is conducted everywhere by the IIMs of India.
  • A computer-based three-hour test with both multiple-choice questions and non-multiple-choice questions.
  • The test comprises of 100 questions in total, divided into three timed sections, namely, namely Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability (QA), and Reading Comprehension (VARC) and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR).
  • DILR has 32 questions in total, 24MCQs, and 8 Non-MCQs. QA has 34 questions, out of which 27 are MCQs and 7 Non-MCQs. VARC has 34 questions, 24 are MCQs and 10 non-MCQs
  • Candidates holding a professional degree with requisite percentage of marks will be eligible for the exam.
  • A percentile of around 55 to 62 in CAT can ensure admission in ICFAI Business Schools.


  • Graduate Management Admission Test is a Computer Adaptative Test (CAT). The outline is developed to test primarily the reasoning skills of a candidate.
  • There are 4 different sections in the exam. Integrated Reasoning (IR), Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), Quantitative Reasoning (QR) and Verbal Reasoning (VR).
  • Total duration of the GMAT test is 3 hours and 7 minutes with specific time allotted for each four sections.
  • AWA comprises of one question only, with 30 minutes allotted to it. IR has 12 questions to it, with 12 minutes time duration. QR has 31 questions that are supposed to be solved in 62 minutes. VR has 65 minutes to it, with 36 questions in total.
  • There are two 8-minute breaks during the exams. However, these breaks are totally upon the discretion of the applicant.
  • ICFAI requires a score of 500 or above in GMAT to give admission.


  • NMAT is an important national level exam conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council which leads to admission in top MBA colleges of India. It has also opened doors for applying for global schools in India, Philippines, South Africa and Nigeria
  • The 70 test centres fall in 50 cities across India
  • The test window is 75 days long and 2 retake attempts are allotted to the students. There is no negative marking.
  • The test is computer-based and consists of 120 questions in total, divided into three time-limited sections. The sections are Language Skills (32 questions, 22 minutes), Quantitative Skills (48 questions, 60 minutes) and Logical Reasoning (40 questions, 38 minutes)
  • A good NMAT score for admission into ICFAI is around 150 and above.
  • The application fee is INR 2500/-
