It offered great performance and a high-profit margin.
The Mahindra Maxximo is available at a price of Rs. 3.5 lakhs which is the ex-showroom value. It is commonly known as Chota Hathi and the term suits it well since it is very flexible for small business owners. It is available in CNG and Diesel Variant. The diesel variant absorbs power from 2 cylinders of 909 cc motor giving out 26 hp power and 55 Nm torque. The vehicle also provides a mileage of 21.9 kmpl. All features of engine for the CNG Variant are the same except for the torque is 57 Nm. The vehicle has two wheelbase options which are 1950 mm and 1840 mm. The payload capacity of the diesel variant is 850 kg whereas the CNG offers that of 750 kg.
Because of such variation including the CNG and diesel variant, it perfectly fits in the need of small business owners who require to transport goods within small distances via not so well maintained roads. The Mahindra Maxximo is a vehicle that runs smoothly on low maintenance with good mileage.
The Maxximo by Mahindra Trucks has a single plate dry type clutch and manual synchromesh 4 forward and 1 reverse gearbox. It can easily go up to the speed of 72 km/hr.
With a wheelbase that is offered with this vehicle, it is very easy for the truck to move about in the narrow roads of India. Widthwise, the diesel variant is 3800 mm long,1540 mm wide and 1900 mm high whereas the CNG one has 2280 mm length, 1540 mm width and 330 mm height.
Talking about the handling and suspension, the Mahindra Maxximo has manual rack and pinion steering which adds on to the trucks drawback. However, compared to its other competitors, the truck throws up a good game in the market. The suspension for both CNG and Diesel variant has the McPherson Independent Unit in the front. However, for the CNG variant, the rear has semi-elliptical leaf springs with hydraulic double act shock absorbers whereas the diesel variant has only 7 leaf spring suspension.
The disc and drum brakes placed at the front of this truck prevent it from stopping abruptly and brings in a smooth and comfortable stop. The vehicle also comes with load sensing proportionate valves breaks for cases of emergency. This helps the vehicle to absorb the impact thus maintaining the safety of the passengers at all times.
Overall, the Mahindra Maxximo is one of the best buys in the market also because of its look and design. It has a very well structured cabin, good colour variants, impressive front grille, wraparound headlamps and an aerodynamic body. The interior of the truck has descent ergonomic design, tech-savvy instrument panel, instrument cluster with digital clock and trip meter. The seats are well cushioned with long driver co seats, a mobile charging point and seat belts, of course.
